Earaches & Ear Infections

Child with ear pain

Earaches often feel intense and sudden, especially in children. The pain comes quickly and builds pressure, which feels unsettling.

From a cell salt perspective, ear discomfort is often a pressure and fluid pattern. The body may be trying to move congestion, regulate inflammation or shift trapped fluid in the middle ear. When mineral balance is off, that movement can stall and pressure builds.

Common Patterns Behind Earaches

Ferrum Phos (4) is often helpful at the very beginning. Think early heat, flushed cheeks, sensitivity to noise, low-grade fever, throbbing pain.

Kali Mur (5) is associated with thick, white congestion and that blocked or stuffed sensation, ears that feel plugged after a cold.

Calc Sulph (3) is indicated when discharge is present or lingering — yellowish fluid or congestion, slow resolution, repeated infections that never fully clear.

Nat Mur (9) addresses fluid imbalance patterns — ears that feel full after swimming, crying or during weather changes.

What It Can Look Like

Pulling at the ear, crying at night (pressure often increases when lying down), sensitivity to sound, fever with restlessness, ear fullness after a cold, and recurrent back-to-back infections.

Children with frequent ear infections often have an underlying congestion or fluid-movement pattern that hasn't fully resolved. The goal is to support better drainage, circulation and mineral balance.

A note on safety: Ear pain can escalate quickly. If a child has high fever, severe pain, swelling behind the ear, lethargy or symptoms that aren't improving, medical evaluation is important.
